Crafting Cuties! Week 2, Day 1...Mini-Me Sculptures

We had a great day creating sculptures of ourselves...first we sketched what we wanted to look like and started building our forms.  The best part was the messy part of applying the plaster.

Some created dancer sculptures, basketball and tennis players, twirlers and hip hop dancers,  cheerleaders and gymnasts...

then they painted the bases with bright colors.

and look how adorable they are!

We had so much fun...can't wait for the next class!

Craft Camp: Day Three! Patriotic Door Hangers

I pledge allegence to this canvas on which this craft project was based on!

That means there was a bit of canvas prep work before the kids arrived.  

 Today we made patriotic soft sculpture door hangers for the 4th of July and the many other national holidays their families may want to hang them. 

 Lots of attention to the stars and bars, high lights, low lights and outlining.

 We attached a hanging wire and gussied them up with a bow all ready for the nation's birthday...238 years strong!

I had such a great group of kids this first week and will miss them...the learned a lot and I learned an awful lot from them!  Stay tuned for session 2 postings.

Queenie Eileenie's Craft Camp, Session One, Day Two...Mosaic Tiling and Coke Can Flowered Necklace Holders

Today was one busy day!  Mosaic tiling, using glue guns and hammers, stomping on beer cans and cutting up Coke cans was all a part of the fun. 

 This is a great group of kids and they are ready to get crafty!
