What to do, what to do! My friend Julie has twin teenagers who have finally decided they would like their own bedrooms after sharing one for almost 13 years. They decided they wanted to decorate their rooms the same but using a different color scheme. Julie ordered custom bedding…one with pink accents, the other with teal. There’s plenty of furniture in their rooms and in good shape, so she wanted some suggestions on what we could do with the pieces.
Strong and solid oak mid-century chest of drawers belonged to the twin’s dad when he was a boy.
The challenge is to unite these pieces to the desk below…
Here’s my solution…I sanded, primed then painted the pieces according to the room’s color theme, then gave them a light glaze of vanilla to add some interest.
To unite the fronts, I free handed a faux French design in thick black to them so tie in the bedding theme of black and white zebra with the accent colors.
I don’t have pictures of their rooms yet, so be looking out for it.
