Fall Paint Birthday Party

It was a sweater weather kind of night with a pit fire roaring on the back patio and lots of adorable and energetic girls ready to celebrate a birthday!  I was asked to do a craft so we got busy painting a Thanksgiving themed wall hanger to take home.

We painted wreaths with bright and colorful leaves, berries, nuts and pine cones...

Each was wonderfully unique to the artist...look at all of that talent!

When the girls were finished painting, I inscribed in gold ink...
Ready to take home and hang on the wall or door!

Flag Flyin' Fun!

My sister wanted to host an Artie Partie for her friends when I visited Atlanta and we had such a good time!  They all wanted to paint my soft sculpture flag door hangers as the 4th of July is upon us...s we broke out the red white and blue bottles and got to work!  My other sister came along for the fun, too!

After lots of visiting and checking out what's going on with our children (and especially how fast they grow!), we have adorable door hangers for the 4th, Labor Day, Columbus, Veterans's and President's Day!

We also painted flag plates for holiday goodies...well, more like we were going to paint these until I realized I forgot to paint the red and white paint!  So I did these for the girls and now they can serve whatever they wish or display it.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Colorful Valentines!

Just look at those glorious colors on the palette!  We're painting big 'ol fat Valentines for front doors and kitchen doors and throwing in a snowman for grins!

Because the heart itself is free form and abstract, we decided to paint the bases in a black and white theme...some with stripes, and one checkerboard.

Painting vibrant colors on a cold winter night is therapeutic!

Good job, girls!  And at center stage is the cutest snowman in town!

Mother Daughter Night!

My son's best friend and her Mom love to craft so I couldn't wait to play in the paint with them tonight!  We made a jewelry board to take back to college and a Valentine door hanger.

A very high tech treatment to dry paint quickly!

Dabbing on a bit of gold paint for the stem.

And the finished products!  Love, love Valentine pot and all of the great colors!  And who doesn't love cream and black stripes??  Such a fun night!

A "Bewitching" Birthday Artie Partie!

My precious little friend Peyton wanted an "Artie Partie" for her birthday this year and I was thrilled and honored!  Peyton loves a good birthday party as seen here and here when she was was turning 4 years old.  Where has the time (and her adorable baby cheeks) gone?  Her Mom suggested something for Halloween and I sent her a quick idea for her approval...that's how most things get started around here...with scrap paper and dried out markers sketches!

Check out this adorable picture of of Peyton taken by a very talented young lady...it really captures her spirit!  And that CAKE!  It tastes even better than it looks...which is fabulous!!

The girls are painting their banners green and will be copying the banner in the background.

Abbey has traced her legs and is ready for the next step!

Paint palettes are loaded with colors of the season.

Birthday girl Peyton starts to paint the witch's legs...

and the girls talk about political ads on tv (of all things!)
while painting!  Oh yeah, and One Direction!

Mammas are impressed with all that talent in one room!

Purple skirts, stripy leggings and

big black boots make these witches adorable!

All finished and ready to hang on doors and walls all over town!  What a great way to spend the day!

Artie Partie with the Smartie Pants!

What could be more fun than getting to hang out with eight young ladies who are about to start their senior year in high school for an evening of crafting, music and munchies?!  I have known most of these girls since they were tadpoles and it was so nice to spend time with them and see what lovely young women they have become...all while creating jewelry organizers for their bedrooms and dorm rooms (yes...some are already thinking about dorm decor!) and monogrammed make up brush holders.

For this slumber Artie Partie, we set up in the carport on a cool summer night, brought out the lamps and bowels full of m&m's and got to work!  Oh, and these girls are literally smartie pants...brainiacs is more like it!

There's something very pleasing about your personal monogrammed clothing and decor!

Decisions, decisions...what kind of rhinestones to put on the board.

It's always so much fun to see what designs the girls chose to do...always reflective of their personalities, decor and their wonderful senses of humor!

From Lilly Pulitzer to jagged and edgy, they all had a great time creating their masterpieces at the Artie (Slumber) Partie!

Crafting With My Cuties!

I just finished a craft class for 2 days with these four young lovelies I have known since they were tiny.  They asked to make things for their bedrooms that they would hang on their walls, so here's what we came up with...
They really wanted to do something with scripture and I suggested starting with a abstract base and adding the scripture over it.  They did a great job!

Below are the completed jewelry organizers...

and their wonderful plastic bowls...so pretty.

Announcing Summer Craft Camp and Artie Partie!

I am so thrilled to introduce my upcoming Craft Camp!  I have spent way too many hours dreaming up fun and creative projects for my students and can't wait for the first session to begin.  I'll be hosting it at my house and will schedule 8 kids per session.

Crafts + Kids = Lots of Fun!!

and then there's the Artie Partie...

You have the party and let me bring the craft time to you...you'll end the event with an adorable project that you made alongside your friends or family as you spent quality time visiting and getting crafty.  I will provide all materials, inspiration and direction to see the project through.
